Kangaroo meat is available in every supermarket meat section and the amount on sale seems to increase every week. I don't like the taste of it myself, but many people do and eat it regularly. It's very lean and tender and costs less than good quality beef.
Millions of kangaroos are culled (killed) every year under licence because in many country areas their numbers quickly grow to plague proportions if nothing is done. It makes sense to use some of the meat. |

Yes some people eat Kangaroo, it's pretty normal here, you can buy it in the meat section in any supermarket here. It's fairly cheap compared to other meats too.
And NO it's not illegal!!! |

A lot of us eat kangaroo meat, which is neither disgusting nor illegal. It's not as widely consumed as meats like beef or chicken, and you certainly won't 'have' to eat kangaroo if you come to Australia. But they are, in my opinion, the most delicious marsupial. |

You can buy Kangaroo meat in any supermarket in Australia. It's actually quite tasty, I have tried it before myself. But that doesn't mean you have to eat it. No one is going to make you eat it. Try lamingtons or pavlova instead. |

Im an australian "dude" haha and I eat kanga-pies all the time. they are better than anything "y'all" "eat" in the american states. *Here is a kanga-pie* with a nice crispy butter crust and kangaroo minced inside with just a bit jelly and cinnamon and spice too. "yum" i say! |

You can buy kangaroo meat at supermarkets, it is actually really good.
but no, we don't really eat it on a regular basis, some people haven't had kangaroo before. I have only had it a few times. I mean, some people have it regularly, but most don't. It's not hard to find here.
and it's not illegal. |

i have no idea, but i'm guessing no just because kangaroos are there doesn't mean they eat them, but i'm not sure either, it probably depends on if they taste good? |

They do use kangaroos for leather :( And according to wikipedia: "Kangaroo meat is used in barbecues, stews and various other types of cooking. The meat is also a staple part of the Aboriginal diet." But I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think the average Australian would ever eat kangaroo, especially if you're going to be in the city. |
