Ummmm NO! With many days of sweltering heat, those months are our Summer, and that's what we call it. Our winter is in June, July and August. We have just begun our spring. |

It's the same all over the Southern Hemisphere not just Australia.
Anywhere in the southern half of the globe will have summer during December, January and February.
Just like all of you in the Northern Hemisphere will have winter during those months.
It doesn't matter whether you're in the USA, England, Japan or Russia etc. |

no, what a silly question! didn't you learn anything in school?
in the southern hemisphere the seasons are the reverse. So December, January and February is our winter, and yes that means Christmas is in summer. |

no. their winter is our summer. therefore june, july, and august in australia is winter. the seasons are opposite. however, an australian winter is nothing like those here in america unless you're in the states that are always warm. i visited australia in june-july one year, their winter, and the weather was very enjoyable. the coolest was about 65 degrees in sydney and about 70-75 in cairns. in the outback, it was very cold in the mornings, ranging from 30-40 degrees, but then would get to be about as warm as 80 during the day. |

Southern Hemisphere countries ( South Africa, South America, New Zealand, Australia etc) are the opposite to North America and Europe. So your winter is their summer. |
