I personally don't wear one in public but in Cairns where it's the tropics, alot of the younger girls wear them 24/7 in the summer (apart from work) but wear them at the malls and in town etc... - very hot and humid in here.

That would depend upon where in Australia you live as at the moment it is an average of 15 degrees Celsius in Melbourne in the middle of winter and I know I sure as heck am not going around in my bikini.

Maybe if I was in Queensland or the Northern Territory I would be wearing one.

I own two bikinis at the moment but they are in my drawer and will stay there till summer.

No. The Aussie girls do not live in their bikinis. It depends on their ages and the weather and their activities. Not every girl has bikinis, some wear a one piece swimsuit. Come to think of it, not every girl should wear a bikini!!!

The weather is not always hot in all parts of Australia. Australia is almost the same size as the USA and the weather is just as diverse. In the middle of the southern winter, the only bikinis that you are likely to see is either in the stores that have their summer fashions out, or at the gyms and pools. Temperatures can drop below 10C in southern Victoria and Tasmania - you'd have to be pretty brave to wear bikinis in that weather. The story is different further north and mid-land where the weather is warmer, but again, in winter the winds are colder and the temperatures are not as hot, so you just wouldn't wear a bikini all year round.

It would also depends on your activities - there are conventions that have to followed. You wouldn't wear a bikini to an interview, or to work or to church/temple/religious areas, or to the shopping center.... You know, the places where YOU wouldn't wear a swimsuit, is the same places that WE wouldn't wear a swimsuit.

How many? It depends on the girl.... some love them and have several pairs, and others only have one - there is no average.

I also like my one-piece swimsuits and tankini's too!

I have a swimwear fetish that is comparable to Imelda Marcos' shoe collection. I own nearly 50 pairs of swimmers and yes, in the summertime I LIVE in them.

And it's Aussie, not Auzzie. :-)

No...we have to work and go shopping....I don't think a Bikini would be appropriate for every situation hehehe.
