It has absolutely nothing to do with terrorists, because you have always needed a passport to travel across borders (yes, the US citizen used to be able to show their drivers' licence to cross to Canada).
The answer is you need a passport, and upon entering they will ask you to fill a form which allows you to stay for 90 days. If you want to stay longer, you need a visa, which will take a considerable amount of effort on your part. |

yes....thats just the minimum that you need if you intend to actually move from Australia to the US...
having done the move myself you cant just pack up and leave to live in the US...you have to have the right visa, have attended an interview in person at the US consulate and you must have a valid reason or a sponsor or your case will not even make it that far...
then once you get here...you have to do it all over again... |
