yes I consider myself VERY LUCKY to be an Aussie....
...we dont have war, school shootings, we dont allow guns !, suffer from starvation, , have to worry about where we place our feet due to land mines ,we dont have to live on food stamps, we get given $$$ towards buying our own homes, and we dont have terrorists as much as other countrys. Australia is a very safe, fortunate country. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else !!! or even want to visit them, and risk being shot or blown up. I pray for those who live in such countrys where they are never safe.In reference to a comment made below..... Every country in the world has dangerous creatures be it bears, cougars, polar bears, scorpians, tigers, lions etc etc need I go on?

Yes, we truly are citizens of the lucky country.

all i think about Australia is that they are completely isolated and we peeps from the US barely hear anything that goes on over there...which i would love if we did

no because we're a secular country we dont choose one god over the other

and to one of the dudes australia has more freedoms than the usa where if you want an education you risk getting shot.

I love being Australian and I have no intention of travelling overseas because I will never live long enough to do that and to see all there is to see here. We are a wonderful blend of so many different cultures and we even have the 3rd largest Greek speaking city in the world. Every where I travel here I meet friendly, helpful people and the amount of happy foreign tourists is a good indicator of how welcome we make visitors from overseas feel.
Of course we have problems, racism included, but I don't think it is as severe here as elsewhere, which is why so many of our tourists want to become permanent residents.

Australia is the best in weather, soil, water, living things, people who are in a sense of self respect and well educated. We are all from different cultures, religions back ground but now we think for a same goal to make Australia a good one for all our future gegerations. Let all of us prosper together.

I've lived in the US and in Australia.

I don't consider that God has chosen one country over the other.

But I will say that I find the US much more tolerant and open minded.

Aussies are great, and very cool... but... God bless America.

As far as poisonous spiders and snakes...that ain't the kind of friendly I'm into. Ditto on the Great Barrier Reef's Iriconji and other killer residents.

I guess you're assuming the country's criminal penal-colony roots have somehow been overcome?
