Yes, it is unless you are really into beaches then you would really like it. Also, you really need alot of money to do it right. Alot of the medium priced hotels are just terrible. Think worse than a MOTEL 6 and food prices are sooo high. Just to get a coffee and a muffin can be ten dollars. BUT if you like to go camping, you would like Australia. |

I might be biased, but no. Australia is beautiful, and we Aussies are very friendly. We don't bite. Sure, certain snakes and spiders do, but they're scarce enough in the cities. Just stay out of dense leaf litter. |

I don't think so. We offer a unique experience here. If you have a bad holiday than its because you did not plan well enough. We have so much to do and the country is very large. Too many options for just one holiday. |

There are lots of great places to experience in OZ and it can be a trip of a lifetime if you plan well.
But it can be easy to waste your time and money doing so much unnecessary travelling to places that are very ordinary. So its good to get a guidebook such as lonely planet and see what you like before you get there. Its getting very expensive now as they are all profiteering from the backpacker boom and prices have doubled since I went in 2000.
Great things: Barrier reef Queensland rainforest Kakadu national park White water rafting Ayers rock Sydney harbour, I liked Train journeys |

I really don't think so. I've lived here my whole life (and have travelled to a lot of other countries) and Australia NEVER gets boring. The natural beauty never ceases to amaze me. If you're a city/shopping type person you probably won't be able to amuse yourself for too long. But if you're into nature and outdoor stuff you'll never run out of things to see and do here. |

No more than any other tourist destination.
As far as poisonous creatures, yes there are some but we don't have grizzly bears, cougars, skunks, poison ivy, tigers, lions or many other dangerous creatures and plants found in other parts of the world. |

What a Negative attitude you have.
Australia is by far not overrated. When you consider that we are a continent and we have rare animals that are only found in Oz and also we have great beaches and biodiversity, Plus the people are friendly no matter where your from I would differently not say it would be overrated. |

u shouldnt have asked this in the australian section if u didnt want australians to answer
hmm well i think it really depends on what u are looking for.. if u like beaches and rare beauty (like vast landscapes with large rock formations that date back millions of years etc) then australia is definitely for you
but if u prefer more pretty scenery then australia might be a bit over rated. europe, canada, or even new zealand might be better if thats what your after. |
