I'm telling you in the most intelligent way I know how -
I believe that woman, Sarah Palin, is as dumb as a bag full of hammers.
We might have some strange people in our parliaments here but no one quite like her now that Pauline Hanson has removed herself from politics.

Anybody who says that 'Abortion is wrong in call cases INCLUDING INCEST AND RAPE' is stupid.

Why are you asking this question on the Australia board? We are not involved in the US election, so our opinions do not count one way or the other. In fact, I'm really tired of this issue dominating the news media and the internet and will be glad when the whole thing is over.

With all the discussion about the US election I wonder just how many of you will bother to actually vote!

please, only a very few people in this country care about this up coming election; I think this gets too much coverage, I think that this is getting more air time then some parts of our election last year!!!

Tell me, who is the Japanese Prime Minister, the Italian President, the Canadian Prime Minister, the German...what ever they call their leader. Do you know all of those people?? I bet you dont know them all, yet for some reason, every aussie knows just about everything about Barrack Obama, John Mcain, Sarah Palin and Joe Bidens life, and they are not even leaders yet!!! And yet not many know the leaders of some of the other powerful countries in the world!!

I wouldn't go as far as stupid, but definitely not fit to be even close to the White House. The fact that she couldn't name a single newspaper in the Katie Couric interview says enough.

And the way she lets religion get in the way of policy is disturbing.

We don't really get much exposure to the American election system or person involved. I cannot comment if she is smart or stupid, I have only seen her in snippets on the news. I can however comment, that she is is pretty cute, lol. Not really the right section, but I'll respond anyway. I don't agree that American are knuckleheads, I have a good mate who is American and he is a top bloke. Take care mate.

I believe as in most people, ample circuitry exists in her brain. Unfortunately, she has remained by choice or circumstance "unchallenged" on an intellectual basis.

Consequently she is what could be termed "low knowledge". She has few inklings towards discourse of ideas but instead tends towards knee-jerk reactions and stir-em-up pandering offerings while she is in commands of audience. History is replete with tragic consequences from similarly minded nitwits. It's not pretty by any means.

But to answer your question, no, definitely not stupid. Willfully ignorant to put it succinctly. Low knowledge to put it more forcefully.

im a democrat and i don't think that Palin is stupid at all. She is just very very VERY unqualified to be vice president. If you have watched the news lately the lady doesn't even know what the job of the vice president entales! Sure she was a governor and a mayor but those jobs don't involve the same kind of work that the job of the vice president of a country holds. She is a very smart woman but she just doesn't know what she's doing or even what to do! All of this was sprung on her all of a sudden and that sudden change from being a mayor and a governor to being the next possible vice is overbearing. They complain that Obama doesn't have enough experience to run for president even though he is a senator and was a professor of constitutional law but yet everyone is saying that Palin is qualified for the job for simply being a governor of a state. Just cuz you teach someone something they didn't know doesn't make you qualified to be a teacher of a whole class if you know what im saying!

No of course she's not stupid. You don't get as far as she has in her political career being an idiot. I do however think that as smart as she is she rest sometimes a little too much on being a light and airy beauty. Whats unfortunate in life is that all too often our appearance gets us in the door. Initially that fact that she was a beautiful girl next door type caught the attention for Americans but now its time for her to step up to the plate and show us what shes made of and right about now she's not doing to great of a job. Lets be honest here McCain didn't choose her for her political background he picked her as his running mate to pick up those die hard Clinton supporters who are wandering aimlessly. Now that shes got our attention she needs to show us how she got elected mayor and governor in Alaska because while being pretty opened the door she has to show us what else she's made of.

No, she's not stupid and I understand her appeal.
I think though, that when she was picked it was with the specific intent of picking up the women vote left behind by Hillary's defeat and to shore up the base.
The Hillary followers found Sarah Pailin as an alternative to Hillary, insulting quite frankly.
What is going to be interesting is whether or not she can politically survive this situation she was put into. I don't think she can.
