Emigrating to Australia? |
I have post a question similar to this before.
I am 16, I live in England with my parents, I moved here 9 months ago from Australia.
My parents make it impossible for me to live at home, and aren't letting me even go back to Australia for a holiday. As I am an Australian citizen, I have the funds to get a flight, is everything ok, if I just go and buy a one way ticket, I have suitable accomadation arranged.
I'm really fed up |

Hey up sweetie.
This sounds terrible. We left UK last year and emigrated to Oz and I can't imagine being there again now.
You need to sit down with your parents and really explain to them how miserable you are. They won't want you to feel desolate. However......
In the UK (I don't know your circumstances) If you have all taken citizenship, then you need to be 18 before you are considered able to make your own decisions, your parents can put a stop on your passport and that will ground you until they say otherwise, or you reach 18.
My heart really goes out to you hunny.
I hope you can sort this out one way or another.
I would just like to say tho........Have you thought about how you might feel if you were back in Oz and your parents were still in the UK?
It might seem like a good idea at the moment, but it is so much harder to deal with in reality.
Good luck whichever way you choose chicken. Take care XX |

At 16 in Australia you can make your own decisions about where and with whom you live. You can move away from your parents and they cannot force you back. If you return to Australia, that is your choice.
Before you do it, though, make sure you have a safety net - relatives perhaps who will look after you. At 16 you won't be able to earn a lot of money and you still have school to finish. Destitute, homeless 16 year olds really have only one way to go. |

sounds like your really homesick and your parents don't understand how hard it is to shift a 16 yr old to a new country. do you have a school counsellor where you are who can talk to your parents? |

sh!t so young
you really need legal advice from a solicitor over in England
in Australia 16 is a legal age to leave home and they cannot force you to return home
before you make any decisions contact a solicitor and seek legal advice on this matter |

I would fly to New Zealand instead first, if you have the money to then go across the Tasman. Australians are allowed to stay in New Zealand indefinitely and I think that if you come over from there, you will get an easier entry. Australian immigration are really difficult to deal with and cut red tape lengthwise. |
