Refrigeration and air conditioning are big in Darwin - it is only 10° from the equator. The weather is tropical with a dry season from May to September and a wet season from October to April although October, November and April are not too wet as the season is building and declining then. You can get tropical cyclones in the wet season.

Cannot be worse than the UK surely????

Life in the slow lane
I'm with Alienzol. Come to California. With all of the produce we grow there is always need for refrigeration on a major scale. The weather is sunny with rain in the winter months, usually November to March except in the Mojave Desert where you get about 1/2" rain spread over a 3 day period. If you look Mexican or Asian it is a plus as they are the majority now. I'm happy if you are legal and speak English. Life is good.
