Absolutely.... Think of it as an adventure.. I'm 47 and move a lot. more so when i was younger, but at 34 and divorced i moved here to the USA. I was scared, I've been here since!! (and married an American too). We are just about to move again, and are excited about all the new places to go and new friends to meet and all that good stuff. Good luck and hope all goes well for you and hubby.....You go girl and ENJOY!!

Why are you having second thoughts now? I assume your husband discussed this with you before he applied for the job, no? Anyway, any opportunity to travel outside the U.S. is great. Seize this opportunity and go and explore; you can always come back to visit IF you get bored, but I bet you will have a great time and experience there. Bon chance!

Adze
Yep i would say,you now got a choice, do it.
To late and to many kids for me.
Bon Voyage

My wife and I went there for a holiday last year and it is truly the best country we have ever visited. We are both retired (57 and 58) and in a way would consider living there, but they won't have us!!

A friend went 12 years ago and has settled in as a local. It truly is as England should be, and how it was about 40 years ago. Underpopulated, stress-free and very relaxing. The North Island has a better climate than here, whereas the South's is very similar; however, it has the better scenery of the two islands.

The southern parts of the South Island, Invercargill and Dunedin, are not too clever, but everywhere else is fantastic.

Two words of warning: it is a LONG way from home, and feels like it; and they have a LOT of immigration from Asia, mainly Chinese, which you can see is going to cause the same discussions that we are currently having.

My advice would be: this country has lost its identity and is going to go from bad to worse. You have the opportunity to kick-start your lives and live in a much better place. DO IT - otherwise you will spend the rest of your lives regretting it.

Having said how far it is, home is always here and only 24 hours away. But, once you make the decision, NZ will be home to you; don't keep coming back.

Good luck to you both - we are VERY jealous.
