Liar Liar

Ever felt like packing a bag and jetting off somewhere?

It's the new year and i'd really love to do something different with my life this year! I'd love to go to aus/new zealand for 6 months on my own when i finish college this summer, i've got so many questions but firstly - how easy is this to plan?

Has anyone else ever done this? I'm working part time at the moment, how much would i need to save? Is is even possible to save enough from working part time? How easy is it to get a job/accomadation abroad?

i'm off there myself, in terms of planning all you need is valid passport, apply for a visa, and off you go, pack light as you can buy whatever you need over there, get full medical check up, see your optometrist, dentist etc, and get any vaccinations that you might need , mainly hepatitis A and B , tetanus booster,
work your butt off ,and save up as you will need spending money and flights aren't cheap any more questions post them on yahoo and i'm sure ill try my best to help, the only money you will need is flights and money to live off until you find a part time job, in terms of accomodation , you probably will just be living out of grotty hostels i'm afraid, at least they are cheap and you will meet people, pretty easy to get job, things like admin, ie reception, cleaning, bar work etc

Come on down...but pick up a Lonley Planet guide first which will answer alot of your questions. You will meet many others doing the same thing and we are very friendly mate!

Go get your dreams girl, get jobs as you travel round Australia that way you get to see what you want and pay your way by doing it, don't put off your dreams, grab them and go.

Your plans sound great. Take a look at some websites and maybe read some Gap-year books. Lonely planet do a great one. Wish I'd done one when i was younger.

Get in touch with the Oz/NZ embassies - they'll point you in the right direction.

Yes every day!! would love to get back in the sun shine again. Ever thought of doing a tefl course-- that is teaching english abroad to help pay for your tour.

Save save save you can do it. Get your passport and work permit bring a couple of thousand australian dollars and have your return ticket. Plenty of fruit picking if you get stuck stay in back packer hostels where you will met up with others doing the same.
