A lot of British like it here :)

It is important to pick the "correct" area to live in though.

Some places are way to hot, and others can be just right.

I live in Queensland, near Brisbane, but in a part that rarely goes over 30C. Down in South Australia, it can get much hotter in some places.

And I see less spiders here than I did in the UK !

Heck yes. I wanted to move there thirty years ago because I couldn't find a good job for a time. I like the whole wide open frontier scenario. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was all of the deadly insects and snakes. When I was a kid I read about a guy who started a plantation in Brazil and then a horde of ants came and ruined all that he had built. My Great Grandfather made a small fortune in Brazil a hundred years ago. It was for many years the basis of our families well being. Since then it has been squandered by greedy relatives and crooked real estate agents back in Germany. I always dreamed of building it up again I thought that Australia would be a good place for a hard working and resourceful person to make his mark--but then I got a really good job here and never looked back. If I were twenty years younger there would be no doubt about it. Also, great surfing- you can be an ordinary shlub and have a house and a mile of beach all to yourself. Here its' a four minute wait at every stop light, illegal aliens everywhere. The quality of life has gone down the tubes because of overcrowding and rediculous home prices. I envy you Aussies. For many Americans it may be too provincial but that's what I like about it.

Well I think it's a whole lot better than Wisconsin, it has it's up side and its down sides, but yea I've thought about living down there. I just did a project on it :]

i'd have to go check it out first, but if it has good job opportunities for me, and is not a warmongering country full of people who think the world revolves arround them... then, absolutely! good steak there i hear...

I have been living here since 1997, (aged 16) and I absolutely love it... I moved from NZ to Bowen, QLD where I lived and worked for 4 or so months, and then moved to Karratha, WA Dec 97, where I lived, worked, partied and met many many people, and made many friends... Now living in Perth since Feb 07 and really like being down here, esp. for the kids, since they get better schooling... Have also been to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane... Melbourne & Sydney, I would only visit, because it is freezing down there... But all in all, beautiful place, great people, and awesome lifestyle... My bestie is also an aussie chick... And I have an Australian accent, hahahaha...

Well, it seems like a facinating country, but it is soooo far away! It might be nice to live there though since Australia seems like it is doing well. I like the accents. However since the deadliest spiders and snakes also live there...uggh.

I have yet to visit but it's on my list. As a place it sounds fantastic - but no I wouldn't want to live there on account I'm already living in my personal paradise in British Columbia Canada.

And if you have a minute, please answer my question ;-)

Hello,
I'm very interested in Australian living. I have not been there yet. I'm a master electrician in Virginia Beach, Virginia USA and I really want to know more about your country. I hope to find someone I could ask all the questions I have, but I need to communicate with a regular guy like myself. I don't trust many others.
Good day and thank you for any assistance in this subject.
