i think that the capital, Sydney is probably a modern city like any other, it is just the outback that have the kangaroos and koalas! I also kno Autralia is very hot and the outback is dangerous!

I think you have some beautiful land and bodies of water. Lots of interesting places..and i heard you have some great aquariums there also..A place i would like to take my children one day.

One week from today I could answer this question. I am going to Queensland for two weeks. Primarily to take in the Rodeo. I expect Australia to be very much like home. (Texas) Big, Good people as I have worked in Indonesia with lots of Aussies, Great Beer. The only thing is that they talk funny and drive on the wrong side of the road. Outside of that they seem to be pretty good fellers. I understand that they even have indoor plumbing, electricity, and sliced bread. Looking forward to the visit and especially visiting with the outback folks. Cities are Cities no matter where you go. That is why I want to get out of the tourist areas.

im australian....travel overseas often and have lived in the states for a number of years...i get asked the same questions and then some...

i love to tell people all about "drop bears"...and they actually believe me...

just roll with it...use your australian sense of humour to educate someone from another country a little more about this wonderful, beautiful country of ours!!!!

i've never been to australia. when i think of australia i think of good weather, the aussie accent, a people that kick butt in every sport (well, not football though, heh), beaches, surfers, well planned out cities and a relatively safe environment. i also think of its history and how the aborigine people were and are being treated there.

Hey Foreign friends....ignore this, it's a trick question.

We really DO have kangaroos all over the place, especially in our capital, Sydney (sic).

I'm at home right now and 3 kangaroos have just jumped in through my front door and are eating my lunch. Oh yeah, I've had to leave my front door open because it's so HOT here in the middle of winter.

By the way, do the Cowboys and Indians still have running battles on the streets of New York? I saw a movie once about Cowboys and Indians.... Is general Custard still the president of the USA? He was in the movie too.

well I'm from Australia i think its very funny when people think they are kangaroos and koalas everywhere. but its just in the outback. Australia is just like any other country very modern not much different.
