They Give Stats And Signs To Watch For. There Is Also A Link To Maps Giving Rest Areas On Interstate Routes.
Stick To The Speed Limit, Take Regular Breaks And If You Feel Tired Take A Longer Rest. Above All Take Care And Have A Great Trip Mate. |

You should definitely stop when you're tired. Driving while tired is a recipe for an accident. Also, stop and smell the roses a bit. There's alot between Melbourne and Gold Coast to see. Remember, its the journey, not the destination. Consider taking some backpackers with you to split the cost of fuel. That's what I did when I drove from Perth to Broome. |

i never knew the distances... but... now you are looking at least four day trip.... around 2100 km???
i don't remember for sure... but DO NOT TAKE THE BUS!!! it'll take twice as long as it does in North AMerica!!!

Do the trip over about 3 days MINIMUM!
Stop every two hours for a coffee, snack and stretch your legs.
There are so many beautiful things to see up the east coast, its definitely worth spreading out your trip for as long as possible and spending a couple of nights in some of the lovely little towns on the way.
ps. it doesn't make any difference what kind of car you are driving! |

stop every hour. that should keep u fresh for the next part of the journey. Get some titbits --it helps to keep u awake. Sleep & rest when u feel tired. & don't be a hero else when u next open your eyes, u'll be in heaven/hell & not gold coast. |
