We've been warned for over a year now that on February 17, 2009 we will no longer be able to get a signal without the converter box. How many of you will be out looking for one February 16, 2009 and how many will get one around February 19th?

This is the perfect category for this question. Any hoo....I think my lil black and white t.v. set will surely get the latest cable signals. It's fairly new....like 1982, I think. It's like a giant 13 inches too. Don't be jealous. I seriously thought it was sometime in January that this new thing was going through. I already pay for digital cable so I think their boxes, modems, whatever they are called will work. I dunno. That's why I keep a man around. |

Stop panicking, nothing will happen next February. The Australian Government has delayed the beginning of the changeover to Digital TV until 2010 and this date might be extended. The full changeover is not expected until 2013 - see the regional timetable: http://www.dbcde.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/88108/Timetable-press-release-20081017.pdf
Why not get a set-top box anyway, these are certainly cheap enough now. |

I think that when February 17 comes around I will probably just throw my old TV & antenna out the window I watch most of my programs on the net like Desperate Housewives most of the rest too, & get my news off the radio, tv is so 19th century |
