France. Australia is too far and anyway, I've no great desire to go from one Kings Cross to another ! ! !

australia, easily!

Any nation, that eats ANY part of a FROG, I would AVOID like the "PLAGUE"! Besides, - as a CRICKET lover, - there could be some VERY INTERESTING "BANTER", with our "COUSINS", from the Antipodes!

The WEATHER'S better there, too! Whilst we, in the UK, - "BAKE" in a 75-degree SUMMER, - many Aussies "FREEZE" at 78 DEGREES of their WINTER!

Australia has everything,France is full of the French which is a good reason not to go there.

France. I've seen much of Australia, having lived here all my life. Versailles, Bullecourt, Carcassonne, Ste Cecile in Albi, Notre Dame, Vaux le Vicomte, Cap d'Antibes, Le Mans for the 24 Hour race. And if Mme. Nathalie is any indication, the people are very nice.

The countries are too different to compare. Both have their pro's and con's. Sorry to be so boring and diplomatic about it :)

AUSTRALIA! hands down, no competition, no need to ask, so yea. Australia rules. I went to Paris and it was NOT very romantic. imagine trying to have a romantic dinner and all of a sudden the dude sitting behind u lights up and decides that having a smoke over ur food is a GREAT idea...

Australia, but if you need to ask the question, maybe you'd be better off going to France.

Both. France in July (especially around the 14th, when Paris is almost empty - or it was the last time I was there 20 years ago), and Australia on February.

I would go for France. Question was interesting as Australia is my sec favorite choice also.

First of all budget reasons:
France Is closer than Australia. Cities are closer and easy to access by train, Paris, lyons, marseilles, lille, Bordeaux... and you can take one to 2 hour train to go to UK, Spain, Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Monnaco.

France is also the most visited country in the world, and there are some good reasons for it: Culture, Gastronomy, Art, and of course shopping.

Its more of an adventure as people are reluctant to speak english (even if they know how to!) And while many people complain of French being rude its quite an experience to have strangers talk to you upright on what they think or not, good passionate conversations. Last but not least, French women (or men if you are a lady)

Australia would however be my second choice, but more for a trekking experience. It would not be about culture, people or cities but just the fun of going through the desert roads from east to west and the occasional surfing on both shores. But I come from Texas so long trips by car with nothing... I'm kinda used to that. Australia for me is a bigger texas. I'd love to go there also, but France would be my first pick.
