Somewhere near the coast in south-east Queensland would be ideal for you. Brisbane itself has good shopping and is a lovely city to live in. It's not very far from the Sunshine and Gold coasts and the Kangaroo Point cliffs right in the city are a drawcard for rock climbers of all standards.
Another good place would be somewhere on the Sunshine Coast just north of Brisbane. Fantastic beaches, good shopping and the Glasshouse Mountains nearby for your rock climbing. Finding a job in either place should be easy (particularly in Brisbane) - there's plenty of work around up here if you're flexible.

Anywhere in Australia is a good place to live. Australia is a wonderful place.

I have only been to two cities, Melbourne and Adelaide. Surprisingly I liked Adelaide more. Most wont agree.

I want to see much more of Australia, I have family that has been to Sydney and Perth, and Id love to check it out. I recommend you do research and find books that can explain the different cultures and variations of the states of Australia. There is alot of diversity.

Thhe northern NSW border would offer you all that you want and more. Close to beautiful waterways and beaches and the very majestic Mount Warning in the distance. Plenty of work to be found around the Gold coast which is not far away either.

pretty much anywhere.
i'd have to say my favourite places are melbourne and sydney.
melbourne has better shopping, and feels more european... sydney has more of a beach culture than melbourne (even though melb does as well - especially as you head down either the bellarine or mornington peninsulas where the beaches are).
if you like quieter cities then i'd say go to brisbane. its nice, close to the tropical beaches and warmer generally.

Not sure about the rock climbing although there is an indoor one.
The Mornington Peninsula would suit you it is on the water close to shops and has lots of outdoor things to see and do.There are plenty of jobs in and around the area

Gold Coast for sure.

I think Brisbane is ideal - you have pleasant suburbs, a really vibrant city, botanical gardens, the Brisbane River, close to the Coast, both Gold, and Sunshine, Mt. Kootha. I believe is the name. The weather is excellent. They had a long drought, but it has been raining off and on for several months - so the drought seems to be broken. I find the general feeling of Brisbane is upbeat and very positive. Go and visit, and spend some time there, you'll find all kinds of neat little neighborhoods, shops, restaurants, clubs, and the economy seems excellent.

Sydney for sure, beautiful, multicultural, nice beaches, clean, big, nice for shopping *flee markets and shopping malls, nice to go out, nice during day time, easygoing...
