NO. You should have got out more. I tell you what is a big disappointment, getting up at 6am in Blighty on a January morning and its lashing with rain. Big Disappointment!!Everywhere in Australia we found people to be friendly, even in Sydney. You don't get much of that in London! You must be uptight about life!! As for New Zealand, again top dollar (and it was when we were last there!!!). Well look at it this way, if everybody liked it, there would be more tourists than nationals, even more so in NZ!!!

I hve never been to Australia, but I have a 2 friends from there (I live in USA). They were the 2 best people I have ever met! Tey made me want to go & visit Australia myself. I have met many people wo said that Syney was a dirty city & people were not friendly, but they told me that about NYC & I loved it there. I am use to rude people, so that doesn't bother me. Right now, I live in Florida (near disney wold) & people here get on my last nerves! They are so fake nice, that I can't stand it! So everywhere, you are going to find rude people!

Not at all, I preferred New Zealand but Australia was still an amazing place. Where / what did you do that was such a disappointment?

Not at all, i spent a year there and absolutely loved it. Amazing place, I found New Zealand to be quite dull, I wasn't interested. Australia however was stunning, a true delight. People, society and scenery.

I was only in Australia for a month but I really liked the country and enjoyed my stay. However, you're not the first person I have heard say that! Did you by any chance visit Oz at the end of a trip around Asia/South America? If so, the reason you were disappointed could be that after seeing some really exotic, different places, you expected more from Oz, maybe without even realising it. That has happened to several people I know.

Hmmmm...in what way? What did you expect?

aussieangel
As an Aussie I can only say that if people weren't friendly, it was your attitude not ours. You couldn't meet friendlier more relaxed people.

Lol you must be from England?? To be honest Australia and America do have some similarities but what you may not realise is there is a certain type of humour that Australians have..and there are always going to be rude people wherever you go you i do find it very hard to believe that you did not encounter at least one nice person in your entire stay? But then again each to their own
