Has anyone ever been to Australia? Did you see all the wild budgies and cockatiels?

I'm in Australia right now...The cockatiels are here and there, but far apart. As for the wild budgies, you have to go out country or find a national Park.
As for the weather, it's great, 30c today.
Down Under...Melbourne, Victoria.

Never been anywhere else old son. (Except for New Zealand) Budgerigars are desert birds and go around in large flocks, you can see them in the central regions. Cockatiels are more widespread. There's lots of other birds here too. This site will show you a lot of stuff about many Australian birds

Ive never seen a wild Cockatiel, and budgies live out in the desert. You should see some of the cockatoos we have here though, a few months ago I was in the mid west of wa, on a farm and saw a huge flock of Major Mitchell cockatoos, they are beautiful. Also Red tailed Black cockies, you should look up some photos of these 2 on the net, they are a sight to see in the bush. Come visit!!

Had been to OZ a few times. Have seen wild cockatoos but no budgies. But I went to several zoos and saw many birds.
Had been handfeeding them in the Dandenongs near Melbourne as well. Great experience.

once i was riding a motorbike through central Queensland and the landscape was flat as far as the eye could see and the scrub was only knee high and there was nothing else except for one tree with brilliant foliage.
at least i thought it was until i rode closer and all the leaves flew away. it was a dead tree absolutely covered in green budgies.

On the west side of London in the UK there are colonies of wild budgies and parakeets. They are a pretty amazing sight to see. I would love to go to Australia.

They are around in Australia, but also check out the sulphur created cockatoos in the Melbourne Botanical Gardens and along the Yarra from there towards South Yarra. I also quite like the galars which are everywhere in country Victoria
