Lucky you! Go and take that chance.
Isn't it possible for your hubby to find himself a job in Melbourne then in the same sort of job he's doing now?

Tell your husband he will love Australia!!!
If your job offer is by Southern Health, jump at the chance, they pay well and have great staff bonuses and support.
Would like to know what work your husband does, either way, work should be quite easy to find in Melbourne.

What's the problem? Just jump on a plane and get over here! Your husband will get another job here, probably at better money than what he's getting now. Hurry up, you're wasting time chatting on here - you should be packing!! Pack him a bag too and text him to meet you at the airport after work!

As for the kids, they will love it here. Lots of stuff to see and do and the schooling is good, plenty of sunshine and a lot safer than wherever you're coming from. Got any friends who are nurses or doctors? Bring them along, too. We've got plenty of work for them!

OK, keep packing and I'll see you when you get here!

it sounds like a good idea. take the job. Melbourne is gr8 and you can settle down to a new job and life with your family.
good luck

well that means for you to really sit down with your hubby and really talk this over between the both of you , Consider if it is worth moving for the job and if you really make more money , the both of you together than before !

i used to work in recruitment of nursing staff for a large public health system.
we found that a lot of job offers were made and the husband or wife were reluctant to move, however, once they made the move the partner settled in (and it is so easy to get a job in Melbourne - provided you want to work!).
the kids will love it - they are great at making new friends and a move like this will all add to their life experiences and they will thank you for it one day
Melbourne is a great place and the health systems here (as much as they get bad publicity at times) really is great.
make the move... you and your family will love it.

You dont give us all that much information.

I can understand that if you are moving from OS then its a huge committment and massive change for your family.

Melbourne is a great city for families. We have a top notch womens hospital that looks after its patients really well.

What does your husband do? IF he is a trained tradie, then he will have no problem getting a job as they are in demand. They can pretty much dictate their own salary as well.

If you can give us some more info, we can help a bit more

I found Melbourne to be a great place - friendly, easy to get around, diverse culture, plenty to do. Why not give it a try for 12 months? Be adventurous, money isn't everything. I'm sure that if your husband has qualifications then he will get a good job.

Melbourne is fantastic! I'm sure you'll love it.
