Have you ever?????

seen kangaroos eat mandarines and passionfruit off a tree

I have for the first time - couple days ago in my back yard

and they also eat all my tomatoes that I am trying to grow
Additional Details
thanks for the replies, but no where I live in australia is in the wet tropics I have rainforest at my back door, so no lack of rain here believe you me, we have too much water running out into the sea daily with all the creeks/rivers -we have no fence (only renting) and you see them everywhere up here come out of the bush every day for a feed on someones lawn - I love seeing wildlife in your yard - I live in a place called Flying fish Point - ocean at front and thickest bush at the back

G'day Waddamulli,

Thank you for your questions.

No, I haven't. However, they will eat a wide variety of plants although the larger roos prefer grass.

Regards

OMG no, I haven't seen that!!

I have had the experience of them taking sandwiches right out of my hand though! I didn't want to give it to them, but I tell you, when they're standing there in front of you on their hind legs, 6ft tall, you don't argue.

I think the little blighters have been at my pumpkin patch too!

And the possums get most of the fruit in my orchard!

Ken E
Have you ever had an emu (called Hector, by the way) put it's head in your pocket looking for pieces of fruit? The gang-gang cockatoos and other parrots got most of my apples this year and what they didn't have the currawongs cleaned up. I've also seen a big male koala taking a shower under someone's lawn sprinkler while their dog, locked under the house went nuts barking at it. But that was in a very small town with a fairly large local koala population. Meanwhile the sulphur-crested cockatoos were over at the grain dump trying to pull the tarpaulins off the heaps of wheat. I'd say you need a fence.

No. But I wouldn't be surprised.

Don't know where you are in Australia, but with the drought I would guess that roos are now looking for anything they can eat.

Elizabeth
No I've never seen that happen.

Do you think it might be because of the drought and you've got some nice succulent vegetation in your garden.

shura_48
No I haven't
