Help! I need clothes for a trip to Australia.?

Admittedly, I am a little overweight but I'm on track and losing pounds relatively quickly. I've lost 20 so far and I plan to keep going. My dilemma is that I am going to Australia in January for 3 weeks and I don't have any summer clothes. I didn't want to buy any at the end of the summer because I was planning on losing weight. Now, with fall ending and winter beginning, I have no idea where to get summer clothes for my trip! I live in the mid-west so finding a place around here seems impossible. In January, we're going to be in the dead of winter and when I arrive in Australia it'll be in the 90's so I'll definitely need clothes fit for the weather! I've looked online a little and haven't found much. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just some tanks and shorts. Any advice?

Try the discount department stores and factory outlets in your area. They always sell out-of-season stock at a reduced price.
You're right - it's about 85 in Brisbane, QLD at the moment, and it's only October!Don't forget to take some long-sleeved shirts for when you are on the beach. You may be used to the heat and sun, but the sun exposure here can be brutal. There's a reason we are the skin cancer capital of the world!
Take care and enjoy your trip. Australia is a wonderful place, and I am proud to call it my home. :)

Why not wait and buy some in Australia? With the conversion rate you will get a bit more to spend and you will be able to come home with some Australiana theme clothes that will continue to remind you of your trip every summer for years to come.
Just take enough with you to wear on the plane and for the first few days until you get around to shopping.
Have a wonderful trip.

Take those clothes you already have and which were a bit too tight. Just take as much as you need for three or four days and buy you new ones in Australia. It's not too bad when wearing lose fit clothes. Tight things in hot summer aren't too good.

Hey....we have clothes shops here. And they sell 'summer clothes' all year round. Just buy them here, chances are they'll be cheaper than they are in the US.

Just leave plenty of room in your suitcase to bring them home.

PS...Have a great time, you'll love it here.

Save your money and buy over here. There are plenty of factory outlets and department store that you can easily buy cloths and for all sizes. As long as you have a set of summer and cooler weather clothing and of course your pj's packed till you get to the shops you will have no problem getting anything you need. Enjoy your time shopping.
