I have heaps of facts that may help your project, you just haven't said what aspects of Australia you're interested in-history, culture, politics, art, society, geography, environment, education, heritage, there are so many angles that can be covered. australia is the largest island
and the population was around 21 000 000 in july 2008 which is pretty small seeing that the area of it is 7,617,930 SQ KM

also Australia is the sixth largest nation after Russia, Canada, China, the United States of America and Brazil.

Australia is the only nation to govern an entire continent

also Australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth.

we eat the most pies in the world, an average of 8 per year (apparently... i reckon i eat way more than that though)

1) I live there....
2) Capital is Canberra...(the location of Parliament house.)
3) HOT up north...COLD down south.

Australia is fairly hot while New Zealand is mild in temperature.

Both where colonies of the British empire.

Both fought together as the ANZAC's.

Australia is very close with the USA while New Zealand is not because of it's Anti-Nuclear policy.

Both are parliamentary democracies.

Advance australian fare is the national anthem of australia while god of nations is the national anthem of new zealand.

Like Australia and New Zealand have the highest rates of cannabis use in the world? or of getting burgled!

Of that New Zealand has the kiwi which is has the largest egg for its size in the world or that Australia has most of the marsupials in the world?

there are a multitude of facts but it depends which area you want them!

Australia was discovered in 1813 by Captain Arthur Phillip. New Zealand was discovered in 1840 by Johnathon Ma'ori.

Australia and New Zealand are technically the same country because of the treaty of ANZAC which was signed in 1931.
