I don't myself, but only because I don't particularly like the taste, but kangaroo meat is readily available in supermarkets and some restaurants. It's very lean and healthy and people who like it, love it.
Millions of kangaroos are culled every year to keep their numbers down to something manageable and it would be a pity to waste all of that good meat though most goes into pet food.
EDIT:
Drama Queen. Kangaroos are NOT endangered and if millions weren't culled every year, we would hardly be able to move for them away from the cities. See the following Encironment Protection Agency (Queensland) report for the facts in one state alone. It shows that the 2008 quota for Queensland is a touch under 2 million over 3 species. Other states have similar programs with even larger numbers:

Hi, yes, SOME people in Australia eat Kangaroo meat, as it is supposed to be very low in fat.
However, I DO NOT eat Kangaroo meat, as the smell is very strong, and I just couldn't eat any animal that is part of our Coat of Arms. It would be like eating a Koala! |

Yes we do. although it's illegal for 'anyone' do just go hunting and kill them. 90% of people buy Kangaroo meat from the supermarket in the meat section. It's lean, healthy, no fat on it, and tasty. (and alot cheaper than other meats)
Next time you are over in Aussie, order a kangaroo steak at a restaurant, or have a Kanga Banger (saug) on the BBQ.
More info see Gourmet Game - Kangaroo products
http://www.macromeats-gourmetgame.com.au/Products.aspx
(this is how we see it in the supermarkets)
For facts on kangaroo meat see http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/1998/archives/26?p=2870
I personally don't eat it, my man does, but he's Aboriginal, he was bought up on it living outback. |

Yes. Delicious, low fat meat harvested from species of roo that are probably more abundant now than at the time of European settlement. The kangaroos also do little damage to the environment compared to the impact of hard hoofed animals like cattle and sheep. |

Yes they eat them like we eat Deer and they taste pretty similar because they have the same diet basically |

Some do ,I don't care for it ,it reminds me too much of a rodent ,I live in Sydney and do not know anyone that has this as part of their diet ,it mainly seems to be a novelty item in restaurants and I think the major consumers are tourists. |

Yeah i know it sounds mean but you have to remember there are millions of kangaroos there so its just like eating chicken. Some peopel class kangaroos as pests |

I had some Kangaroo medallions last Saturday night and they were delicious.
It was the first time i've had Kangaroo in about 4 years though as I never see it on the menu in the curry houses I tend to frequent |

Yes,kangaroos as well as crocodiles.Traditional Aborigines also eat turtles etc. However, beef steaks, pork, lamb and chicken is a lot more popular than kangaroo meat. |

Unfortunately yes. Not exactly as common as chicken, as someone above intimated.
Comparatively speaking, not all that many Australians actually eat roo on a regular basis. Most omnivores I know try it once in a while.
I know quite a few restaurateurs who serve up roo, emu, croc, and they reckon it's mostly overseas tourists who order these dishes.
Let's face it, most of the culling of our national symbol ends up in pet food tins. "Skippy in a can."
Edit:
Playboysmurf below is obviously a cretinous redneck to say that the only good roo is a dead roo. I can imagine him with his baseball cap, goatee, cattle dog, ute adorned with spotlights, bristling with firearms. He would wear a Jack Daniels t-shirt. |

Yes people do, it's stocked in all supermarkets here but it is not as common as chicken lamb fish, beef, steak etc. I personally don't eat it though as I'm a vegetarian. |

The only good roo is a dead roo!
And yes people eat Kangaroos, its a very dark red meat. |

Yeah they do,
I honestly don't think it's as inhumane as some people have said, just part of our life you know.
Oh, and a message to Miami Ink...Kangaroos are not pests and they are not in an abundance, they are actually on the endangered list and slowly dying out due to idiots who hunt them illegally! |
