Hi I live in America isnt it true that its summer in Austrailia?

I live in America and someone I know from Austrailia told me it was summer there but you still celebrate Christmas during summer, thats confusing, and is it true?

The Unrepentant Optimist
summer there is december to march
and the water in toilets and sinks flows counter clockwise

Dropkick Murphys
Yes, it is Summer.

Yes, we celebrate Christmas on 25 December just like the rest of the world.

No, it isn't confusing.

And yes, you are another stupid American.

Judith of the Never Never

Hootie McBoobie

yes it is summer
Jesus was born dec 25th so its christmas on that day no matter what the season

i don't understand why americans don't get it,christmas celebrates the birth of christ so when else would we celebrate it other than dec 25th?

It's true. It's summertime in Australia and it's Christmas too. Since they are in the Southern hemisphere, their season's are opposite ours

suncatcher
What is confusing about it being summer and Christmas
it does not matter what the weather is like we celebrate the day Jesus was born on december the 25th the same as any country in the world
or do you think Christmas is only for presents
People forget the real meaning of Christmas they are greedy for getting you to buy things in the shops
and yes we are a very advanced country its called the 21st Century

duh.
Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. So all our seasons are opposite to yours - when it is your winter we have summer, your fall is our spring etc. Unfortunately we are still inflicted with carols about snow etc.

Hi I live in Australia isnt it true that its winter in America?
Yes, its true, we find it wierd that you guys have such a good holiday in winter, locked in your own home, cant get out and play a good ol game of cricket.

Yes, in fact it's 12.44am on Christmas morning here in Brisbane and it's still about 26°C (78.8°F) outside.

Later today is forecast to be 30C° (86°F) which won't be too bad for Christmas Day but will still be a day for cold food and lazing in the pool but that's Christmas in Australia!

It is true. Australia is in Southern Hemisphere, so the seasons are opposite. It is very hot around Christmas.

Smurfette
Yep but the weather has been abit flakey! its more summer in FL than in oz :P

lala
Yes, it is summer here in Australia during December, January and February, and yes we do celebrate Christmas on December 25th just like everyone else in the world, but most of us have had Christmas where the weather was hot, so it's normal to us, and if we went over to America for Christmas and it snowed, then that would be weird for us, so yeah, it's all true.

Well Now What
Yelp and Israel is have 60 degree day to day that is the county that Jesus was born in
.
Summer in both the north part of America is having a touch of early nasty weather
