I like the Circle on Cavill.

They are spacious apartments right up the top of Cavill Ave above a shopping centre. The building is part residential part hotel, so the apartments are huge.

It cost about $160 a night but you can save money by making your own breakfasts and even have dinner if you like.

For the theme parks, you can buy passes which give you some discount if you attend two or the three parks. I would strongly recommend bringing your own lunch or at least snacks and drinks to the theme parks, they are the biggest rip offs. Even if you just bring some subway with you, it will save you heaps.

Are you from Australia, if so the big car insurance companies offer discount too.

Heres the website - http://www.myfun.com.au/

Also worth a visit is Dracula's, they have a dinner and show that's really entertaining.

I'm not from there but been there for 4 times ! My last trip was last year. We stayed in Hi Ho Beach Apartments & lol it's nice. It cost us A$140/nite for 3 bedroom. It's beach view & located at Broadbeach. You cant get the price of $150/nite if you want to stay near Surfers Paradise.

Anyway, its worth to stay there (not mention that there's a mall next door). You can actually cook for yourself & bring it to the theme parks. And if you going to the theme parks, I suggest you buy your tickets in advance from www.myfun.com.au & enjoy their monthly discounts & you have the priviledge of cutting the queue.

Have a try..& enjoy

If I were planing to stay on the Gold Coast, I live here. I would investigate the Back Packers residences will save you heaps of money, I believe they have private rooms.
Leaves lots moore money for the rides and the night life.

I'm from Brisbane, and often travel to GC for weekends away. Definitely check out the backpacker places. I have stayed in them for as little as $12 a night and they were great. You're only sleeping there, so why not save the extra money to go and do things. There's so much to do on the GC.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://cheapest-travel-site.info/xfqe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

why not look at wotif.com ? you can stay in a very nice hotel for less money if you are willing to chance it by booking late. Q1 is worth the experience of staying a few nights, the hotel itself is only 3star in my opinion, but the pools are excellent.

You might also consider splitting your time between Broadbeach (to be near the theme parks) and then move further south (Burleigh, Currumbin or Coolangatta) for a more relaxed view of the Goldie. Take some surfing lessons at Snapper Rocks, where they hold the Quicksilver pro each year. You could also hire a car and drive to Byron Bay for the day.

enjoy!
