I think at this time of year you would be extremely lucky to find something as most accom is booked out a year in advance.
I would do a google search on holiday accomodation in Victoria and see what comes up

go to pyramid rock :) its on phillip island and thats near sorretto its like a 4 day party over the new years w.e and you get your own camp site and stuff only cost bout 100bux a ticket for all 4 days.

i live in VIC but i hav no idea where sorrento is lol i rekon VIC is the worst state for a holiday theres nothin to do but QLD on the other hand is AWESOME! it has all theme parks n everythin but i guess u prolly made up ur mind already and sorry that i wasnt much help lol =
