How are does Australia look at Black people that come from the United State or that are from Australia?

We see them just as we see anyone else. We find the accents intriguing though :) It is unfortunate that our country is not racism-free, but most of the people will just think of you as American first and the colour further down the list.

By the way, it may interest you to know that there were African-Americans who arrived in Australia with our first fleet, including our first bushranger who was known as "Black Caesar." It isn't a well-known fact, but there were some people who were slaves in America who went back to the UK with the British, and some of these ended up in the first fleet. Blue's Point in Sydney is named after another of these who was the first ferryman on the harbour. Others arrived at other times after our "white" settlement. There is book by Cassandra Pybus called "Black Founders: The Unknown Story of Australia's First Black Settlers" that covers a lot of this history and I'm trying to track down a copy for myself.

Australia is very mulit-cultural. We have alot of nationalities here and have just learned to accept it. It is a way of life now. I dont really know any people who are racist..... i think that is fantastic!!

MOMMY
What are you talking about?

We see African Americans (or black people from anywhere in the world) in a very different light to Aborigines, as British television presenter Trisha Goddard will attest from the 10 years or so that she lived and worked here.

Australia and Australians still have an uneasy relationship with the traditional owners of their land, who are still quite marginalised. This is mainly because their traditional culture had been almost completely destroyed in the first couple hundred years of white settlement.

These social factors are not at play in the Australian relationship with black people from outside this country, who get considerably better treated. They are generally treated no differently along lines of race or colour.

i don't care what colour people are only how they act if they are a smartass or pissmeoff i let them know most Aussies are the same but like everywhere some are raciest

you mean are they racest, no i wouldn't say so, australian in general are very open minded people

Aidan
Race is merely an illusion. Black people are just people with darker skin than me. If you are from the US and black you would be a bit of a novelty as you don't see many around. Aborigines (they can be very light skinned....even look white) legally have equal rights and I think their treatment is generally fine. But there are always going to be people who dont like others because of the colour of the skin, religion, sex, gender etc.

mate im mate with everyone until they piss me off. Im calm and willing to give everyone a chance its only when im insulted and annoyed that you hear bad remarks from me. I think most in australia are like that. Its only when we get those few that jump up and down for no reason because ther not getting enough attention that we then get snaky!

Australia is one big melting pot of different nationalities..its now known that 25% of our population wasnt born here so i wouldnt worry youll be fine...Oh and by the way aboriginals are treated as well as they behave..despite the usuall grumblings from the bleeding hearts who INSIST we are oppresing them its really not true..aboriginals are given so many extra opportunities these days compared to any other group with welfare and public housing..but because most people dont find aboriginals attractive people see this as racism..well im sorry it sounds shallow but ive simply never seen a good looking aboriginal!
