How do Australians, New Zealanders and other Oceanic nations feel about the Union Flag on their own flags?

Hey Ivan, most Australians love the flag.

Its true blue.

It's ok by me . we are a commonwealth country and the history goes back along way. the aboriginal people have their own flag so often we fly the 2 of them. As long as we have a Queen we can't have a dictator but we run our own country and have the benefit of england to help us as well. So Lucky us

Does not worry me at all. We don't have people flying flags outside every fifth house here, I have only seen a few private flagpoles and one at least belonged to a bloke who was locally known as a ratbag.

It is the Union Jack and as we are part of the Commonwealth then we have it. It has been a part of the flag from the beginning. I love it

I don't really care one way or the other about it, although I can see why some (particularly the Aboriginal people) do.

Personally, there are more important things to worry about AND if it is changed, it's sure to be something done by some w@nky designer or art student that I could care less about.

It WILL chnage eventually, I'm sure, but let people start to care about it as something that needs changing and call out for change, rather than have it imposed from above or by a minority view. Then it will get support.

Cheers :-)

I'm not a flag-waver so don't really care whats on there. I would be against any moves to change it though, there are other more important things to be fixed Down Under before doing a fashion police raid on a piece of cloth on a stick.

Ahhhh flashbacks......just had memories of our last P.M. who would start a "we should change the flag" rant to take attention off whatever mess he was making at the time. After so long with our current idiot I almost miss the last one...

To me we run our own country but pay for a Governor general who is apart of England with our money.
He does very little for us and so dose England except cost us money .
So to me as far as I am concerned I feel the less we have to do with England the more money we have here.
I vote yes to remove the Union part of the flag to make us truly free & to add to the fact we seam to be headding towards the USA style of living .

It would be good to get rid of it and have our own distinctive flag. It didn't do Canada any harm when they changed theirs.
