Been there before

Aussies and Kiwis have Christmas Trees with normal decorations. Some might put "Santa Snow" on them, or on their windows. This is a white spray foam.
Decorations include the normal tinsels and baubles, and Santa appears in every shopping centre in the usual heavy red clothes (the centres are all air conditioned). Santas also walk around the streets; in some areas there may be female "elves", usually dressed in red bikinis with a cap with a white pompom.
Some have the traditional hot turkey dinner. More and more have a cold Christmas dinner, or a barbecue (cookout in the US) where prawns are a traditional centre dish.(US name for prawns is shrimp, but these are usually huge ones).
Because both countries have big populations of immigrants, titbits of other cultures' traditions have also been adopted, principally for the food.
If you came here you'd feel quite at home, except for it being warm and no real snow anywhere. |

Well just his normal suit! But on the K-Mart ad's there's a santa riding a surfboard (Australia..dunno about NZ) |

Same as you, though I don't know why, as it is usually around 25-30 degrees centigrade here in Oz or more. No snow here at Christmas! Tradition, I guess. We are becoming more attuned with out surroundings and temperatures here now though, as far as food is concerned, as we have seafood or barbeques on Christmas day instead of the old turkey or whatever. |

They basically just have Christmas trees with the same decrations as places in the northern hemisphere.
Santa at the shops wears Winter clothes.Which is unfortunate for them because its so bloody hot in summer.
And some people decorate their houses with christmas lights. |

Santa wears the same red suit in Australia, most of us try to avoid the 'snow' theme though, not a lot of snowmen or snow flakes, etc..
They are starting to bring out a summer Santa, we have an inflatable in our front yard that has santa and a penguin under a palm tree siting on an island in board shorts and sunnies.
Zealanders is correct but I don't think your question is grammatically correct, it should probably be 'How do people in Australia and New Zealand decorate for Christmas', not that it matters, we understand the question. In fact it says Zealand is incorrect also. |

Considering the majority of decorations involving santa are made in China, he comes dressed traditionally ready for the North Pole weather. |

LOL.
I am from new Zealand, I've been to australia.
We have a GREEN christmass tree, decorated with cute santas and stars and what have you. we put the presents UNDER the tree. and on christmass night we have a lamb, ham, chicken, turkey or maybe salmon(or a combination of the above).
presesnts a wrapped in festive paper, and put under the tree. Unless there is a family dinner, everybody brings their gifts and we distribute them together.
and then we get out grass skirts and dance around a camp fire with big masks and we speak odd ;languages that we don't even know!
yeah cynical was being I last part |

Zealanders is correct (but took me 4 goes to write it myself).
Silver spray-painted pine cones. Trees. Um... they go for the Winter traditional Northern hemisphere thing, which is kind of delusional, considering it's 96 degrees in the shade where they at. |
