generally i think all american sounds pretty similar, aside from really obvious differences like the south etc

When I talk to someone from the USA I'm sometimes reminded of characters from hollywood movies.

American accents sound more nasal than other English accents, but some are much stronger than others. They vary a fair bit depending on what part of the US they are from, some of them do grate on the ear a little ('Nanny Vine' style).

Depends where they are from. New Yorkers have 6 different accents.Massachusetts different, then Maine or New Hampshire and so on. Not one state natives sound like another

i`m australian and to my ears a lot of you americans sound very irish. particulary new yorkers.
