How do i educate my young children when travelling to australia for a year?

ask there school for suggestions if your 'home schooling' and travelling around otherwise enrol them in your nearest school if you are staying in one place.

Send them to an Aussie school, at least there isnt a language barrier.

well you can put them in school here..

most public school have no fees to go to them..
all they will want is a letter from their current school so they know what grade to put them in...

and you willl have to get them uniforms for that school....
but you can get them cheap in the local second hand stores...

but the other option if you are not in one place for long and are traveling is to home school themm...

You could see if you can register them in one of the local schools in the area your going to live in or do a web search for education at home packs and do it yourself, hope you work something out, good luck and enjoy Australia.

When you get here, the best thing to do is give em to Dame Edna Everidge for the day, she'll educate em nicely and bring em up to speed with Ozzie customs........

i'm originally from australia (adelaide) and have been bouncing back and forth from there to california.
it's been crazy but worth it.
each time i go back to australia or america, i contact the school district of where i plan to live and find out what school i will be in, whether or not the courses i've already taken are up to par with their curriculum, my immunization is up to date, and make sure all your papers (visa, birth certificate, etc) are available for their records.
also, be aware of the academic school year. different countries start school at different times of the year; your children might either repeat or skip some months because they start sooner or later than the UK.
for example: australia starts at the beginning of the year while the US starts midway. so everytime i came to the US, I would have to do an extra six months of that grade but going back to australia, i would miss out on six months.

This probably isn't very helpful but you can always do some research on the Department of Education website for the state or territory you're moving to, for instance the NSW Department website is:
http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/international/index.php

Often private schools or independant (non-government schools) will offer a version of an overseas curriculum, so depending on where you move to you might even be able to keep your kids doing similar work to what they'd be learning in the UK... But this is often more true for secondary/high school rather than primary education.
