Further to what Elizabeth said, we both have political and legal systems based on the British systems, we both speak English (more or less!), and we share a fondness for egalitarianism, beer, rugby (not me personally), and chucking off at the Poms!
Our road transport is similar, we both have lots of sheep, and economies heavily dependent on farming, we have similar currency, the metric system, and we both lay claim to the genius of the Finn brothers.... |

We're both situated in the southern hemisphere.
We're both made up of islands.
We're both separate and independant countries. |

Similar like brothers. |

We both think that our country is the best and that the other one is inhabited by people with strange accents.
We love to beat each other at sport and both lay claim to Russell Crowe.
New Zealand was the first country to give women the vote, with Australia coming a close second.
Despite our fierce rivalries, we support each other in times of need and will send firefighters from one country to the other during bushfire season. Incidentally, it was the Aussies and New Zealanders who really won both world wars, but we really appreciated the help we got from those other guys. Parochial? Me? |

simply the best places to be in ever, especially New Zealand, far away from rest of the bad dirty world, I would be happy if I could spend the rest of my life there. |

Well done for all those great responses - I'll just add that we are basically like siblings, there's a definite rivalry but deep down we basically love each other and will do anything to support one another |

adding to what other people have said... we are both laid back types of people... we both have new zealanders in our countries (so many people from new zealand live in Australia... especially at the Gold Coast area... they are everywhere!!! |

There are more New Zealanders living in Australia, than the other way round.
Stay where you are New Zealand, just stay where you are. |
