How long it takes to get out of an Australian airport? |
I'm going to Brisbane from Helsinki and was wondering how long it takes to get out, I mean through the costums and such. Is it true that the costums agents will open everybody's luggage to check them? |

Do not attempt to bring any wooden products like craft carvings. Finished articles like wood parts of luggage or small cases are OK.
Do not attempt to bring in any food. That is, none at all.
Confectionery is OK.
Do not attempt to bring in plants or seeds. That is, none at all.
If you have prescription drugs, bring your prescription with you and pack them together.
Customs will not open everything. But there is no use protesting, if you complain, they will search everything thoroughly and you as well.
Helsinki is not a likely source for cocaine or heroin so you are less likely to be bothered than if you flew from Columbia. |

Take anywhere between 30min -1 hour. Depending on how long it takes for the luggage. Customs isn't too bad, they get through fairly quick.
Just don't give them any reason to hold you up. eg) food on you etc.. |

Under 30 minutes. Custom lines usually move quickly (make sure that you have your electronic visa). The quarantine check also moves quickly. Your bags will be scanned after you pick them up, so make sure you have NO food items. Have a good trip. |

no the customs don't open everyone's luggage - they have sniffer dogs that check all the people and carry on luggage while you wait at the carousel for your luggage to come thru. they also have sniffer dogs checking all the luggage before it comes on to the carousel. don't bring any food - i.e. chees, milk, fruit off the plane. don't wear or carry anything that may have had illicit drugs in it - the dogs will catch you out.
declare everything on the form - be honest & you'll be o.k.
you'll be out in less than an hour if all is o.k. |

i went through tons of airports when i went down under.. but customs really wasn't that bad. if you have to catch another flight make sure you have a lay-over.. really customs depends on how many people there are... you also have to go through quarrentine when you get your baggage.. if you have beef-jerky.. go ahead and throw it out lol |

Takes about a hour to clear customs, and NO, everybody is not checked, I have never been checked. Just please make sure you know what you are bringing into the country, No food.No untreated wood etc. |

depends how many planes are being unloaded when yours is
bags are randomly picked for checking,you may walk right through customs or you may be chosen for inspection |
