2000 pounds won't last more than a month or two and even less time if you have travel expenses (fares etc) to pay. Try very hard to have more money if you possibly can. Nothing spoils a holiday faster than being forced to live from hand to mouth when your reserves are completely exhausted.
Don't forget that when you land here, you will be expected to have a return ticket or money to buy one, in addition to your 2000 pounds spending money |

Hello. I know alot of people who come over here and they do fruit picking and work there way around. Where i am at the moment about a hour from here they hire back packers and you can stay in there accommodation and it is good and they are making between $600 to $1000 a week. My son worked out there and a good friend of mine is working out there at the moment. It is good money if you want to work for it. If you need any help with phone numbers and places to stay please email me and i will help you out and if you get here and get stuck for work or anything just ring me and i can give you phone numbers as i know what it is like when you are stuck with no help. You need £2000 to apply for the visa as this is considered sufficient funds for when you arrive and for when you need to buy a ticket home.
If you intend to live in australia for a year and not work, you will need a year of your english salary.
I would think that to get you started and do a bit of travelling you should have about £6000 when you arrive. Then you can pick up some casual work as and when and not be completely skint all the time... |

Don't think that will be enough, my friend lives there and says food is cheaper than UK, wages about the same but house prices and rent are very high. |
