Australia does not have a King. The Monarch is Her Brittanic Majesty Queen Elizabeth. She is in her 80s, but I don't know her exact age. She reigns but does not rule - look up the difference. Her representative is the Governor-General, a person with very limited executive powers who is formally Head of State. The G-G is appointed by the Queen for a few years from a very short list of prominent Australian citizens nominated by the government.

The government is by the majority party in the parliament, currently a coalition of Liberal and National Party members. The leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Representatives is the Prime Minister, currently John Winston Howard. He represents an electorate in Sydney, so he is both Prime Minister and a member of the House of Representatives. Unlike the USA, the heads of various government departments are selected from elected members of the House of Reps or the Senate and not appointed by the head of state.

As in the United Kingdom, the Queen may not enter the House of Representatives, but may enter the Senate Chamber.

Australia does not have a King. We have a Prime Minister. His name is John Howard and he is currently 67. Will be 68 on 26th July 2007.

At th moment the monarch is Queen Elizabeth but Australia is likely to be a republic within ten years, probably when Betty Windsor dies.

The King of Australia is 67 years old. His name is King John I, and he is the client-king of the United States.

You can see his photo here -

We don't have a King, but we have lots of Queens in Sydney.
You can come and see them when the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is on.
