Generaly freaking hot! and I would not have it any other way. Love the beach and the bush in Summer. Bring on the heat!

Perth - Hot 30-40 degrees Celcius, little if any rainfall
Queensland - Hot And Rainy at the top in Cairns, Hot and dry in brisbane
Victoria/Melbourne - Hot and Dry - temps a little cooler because its more south
Alice Springs- VERY HOT
Sydney - Hot and Dry

Basically Hot because its in summer but it does get wet at the top of the country.

It will be very hot all over with Queensland and Northern Territory being unbearably hot for those that aren't use to the heat.

Depends on where you go, but generally it should be very hot as their summer is in December. and unlike in America, it gets colder the further south you go, and gets warmer and more humid the further north you go.

Australia is a big place, so it depends on where you go. Most places will be hot, but some hotter than others. Places like Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland will be extremely hot.

December is summer in Australia but our weather is quite different to other countries.

In the North, northern Queensland and Northern Territory it is the tropical season, this bring torrential rains and cyclonic winds. They get a few off shore cyclones but not usually anything too destructive though it has happened. Temperatures would average around 35C during the day.

Tasmania is the opposite, Tassie is cool all year round and would average in the early 20s.

The east coast, Sydney and Melbourne have warm summer usually hovering around the mid 20s, though heat waves and cold snaps are common and can have temperatures from 15 up to 40. I find Melbourne to be more prone to heat waves. The heat in these cities is a very humid heat, so you feel sticky.

South Australia and Perth have a more dry heat, but also tend to experience higher temperatures. While the average is in the mid 20s, they are extremly prone to heat waves bring weather in the high 30s early 40s.

Inland Australia is hot all year round with winter even hitting 30C at times. The nights can get slightly cool but the days average 35 in the peak of summer.

I've missed Southern QLD and North WA. Southern QLD, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are warm cities all year round. They occasionally get the tail end of the tropical weather so can be a little wet and windy. The average temp is in the high 20s.

North WA is a hot dry arid environment. It experience much the same temperatures as Northern Australia but without the tropical weather.

I hope that covers it all. But you need to remember that weather is quite unpredictable, clothing wise bring mostly summer, so shorts and tshirts, but a pair of jeans and one thin jumper wouldn't hurt.

EDIT - One big downside of our weather. Heat waves brings bush fires. Victoria, New South Wales, Canberra, South Australia and Western Australia all suffer from bush fires every summer. The worst are those lit by fire bugs, theres no humour in burning down someones property.

Dunno!!!!

Depends where you go in Australia and how El Nino and La Nina and Mother Nature and all that decide to play their games at the time. Generally Australia is hot in summer... but it has been known to snow in parts of the country too!
