Avoid South Molle if you don't want kids! Although maybe it was because it was school holidays when I did a day trip there...
Hamilton Island is nice. Again there will be kids but you could choose to stay in the hotel area rather than the accommodation set up more for families.
Hayman Island looks beautiful. I've never actually been there but apparently it is aimed at couples.
I've also heard great things about Lizard Island. I know many people go there on honeymoons because they don't allow kids under 12. |

Hamilton is lovely - yet expensive.
South Molle and Brampton are nice, and cheaper. Not many people around. Daydream Island is also nice.
Airlie Beach is also cheap, but more busy, and probably more kids around etc. |

Moreton Island is my choice it is where Tangalooma national park is.
Lady musgrave Island is a great place to go snorkeling for the day it is near Gladstone.
Fraser Island and North Stradbroke Islands are more for families.
Whitsunday Island is another one i would choice it's a national park between Bowen and Mackay. |

Hayman Island is a more upmarket, exclusive island in the Whitsundays - good if you haven't got kids. |

Do not look any further than Moreton Bay Island!!
Tangalooma Wild Dolphin resort reminded me so much of Fiji it was unbelievable, why waste your money flying to Fiji when you can go to Tangalooma and it is just as good???
There is lots of activities to do and a big Beautiful beach to relax on..there are a couple of pools and restaurants and I think you will find 4 days is not enough!!
Also you get to feed wild dolphins :) |
