travelzoo.com is pretty good. i always suggest going there first they have good deals and they give a good base figure of what its going to cost.

sydney is a beach city - the CBD is set on the harbour - one of the most beautiful in the world and the surrounds to the north ,south and east and the city has at least 20 maybe more beaches which lie in the metropolitan area. Australia is primarily a coastally inhabited country with fantastic beaches right around its circumference. So you are visiting in late summer early Autumn, most Australians swim up to and including Easter break so you are coming at a good time for the outdoors. Not so sure about the"reggae" scene. But Australians know how to party and Sydney is a very cosmopolitan city . All ranges of accomadation exist I would suggest hiring a car for a few days and checking out the surrounding sights as Australia's distinct bushland and animals are what make us famous. Enjoy your stay.

Australia is a wonderful place to visit.

I live in Sydney there is just so much going on here that you will never be bored.

Yeh everyone knows Bondi beach but there are many others. You can do a cliff walk from Bondi to Bronte beach. You will get amazing views on the way and it only take about 15 -20 mins.

There are many hostels, there is a whole cluster in Oxford st in Paddington to stay in. Check out the YHA Youth Hostel Association ( I have added their website to this comment). The website will allow you to book on line and will give you heaps of traveling tips.

Have fun down under mate.

February - March - It will be pretty hot but not as bad as the earlier summer months. I've lived in australia for 16 years. Always loved it. Brisbane is the best city in Australia. Bondi beach is beautiful but so are all the beaches on the gold coast as well.

March is the wettest month of the year and you can expect some rain one day in three but don't let that worry you. It is usually warm with temperatures in the low to mid 20s. Gay or straight, don't miss the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade on Saturday 3rd March.

All the beaches are awesome, the most famous beach in Australia is Bondi Beach.

The clubs are all over the place, Kings Cross is a vibrant red light district that holds all sorts of night venues, it is even interesting just to eat their. I don't know if you will find anything that has reggae though, in Australia this is not so popular at clubs.

Look at backpackers for accomodation, you should be able to get travel guides that point this out. The weather is warm in February, March but the odd day is cool to, it is the end of the Australian Summer.

I hope you have a wonderful time, the people are friendly in Australia and they love to party !!!

Hope this helps,

Jackstar (go Aussie go)

I think the northern beaches are heaps better than bondi, bondi maybe australias famous beach but not everyone heads to bondi. I personally think beaches like Palm beach, Avalon & Manly, are better. My favourite beach is Freshwater beach in Harbord. Bondi's a show pony beach it's just filled with tourists. In Summer it can get up to the late 30 C, so wear lots of sunscreen, alot of tourists come here not realising just how hot the sun can get here, you'll burn.
Manly has a lot of bars, clubs and pubs that are all in one lot, it's on Manly Corso it gets so packed there, and most of the guys wear pants, a tee shirt or shirt and thongs you don't have to get dressed up to the nines just to get in! There's also the Newport Arms, the arms has the biggest outdoor beer garden in australia, it's good there also. Also in Manly there are heaps of backpackers, hostels, ect.. all in walking distance from one another and the beaches and pubs, clubs ect...
Well anyway, good luck and have fun!

I reckon ya need to get yaself a few domestic flights sorted out when ya get here.......... 2 weeks aint enough unless ya fly around Australia.
Eg: start in sydney then fly up to cairns then down to the gold coast etc etc etc.
As far as back pakers and hotels ya need to look at your finance.
The weather will be fine no matter what time of the year you arrive cause we have two seasons Hot and Hotter lol
go for a surf @ Jetstar (Qantas), Virgin blu airlines for domestic flights. Its cheap to get about if you book well inadvanced.

Nothing to really know about australia just bring out ya bug spray, ya camera, your danceing shoes and an open mind m8 and you will have a great time. there heaps of clubbs here 24hrs.

Things must be good here cause I have a hoosier from IN whom arrived almost three years ago for a holiday and hasnt gone back to the USA only for Thxs giveing and their summer .

if ya get stuck drop us a line and we'd be more than happy to help.
BTW the way we have 11,000 beaches around aust so I am sure ya will get into the water some where. just remember australian surf is nothing like it is anywhere else in the world our surf can be dangerous if ya not sure to reading the surf and rips (something ya should concider befor ya get wet in the surf.... )unless ya surf well then ya right as rain m8.
AVA G1
ps: most aust beaches are topless so bring ya sunnies too

Yehh Botany bay is a good beach and if u go into the city these alot of clubes and things.
It would be a good place to stay near the Sydney bridge.
Its a beautiful view.
I am sure u will love it in Sydney
Weather is normally goodd.=]

Beaches in summer - fantastic. Blue, blue, clear water, warm water .. much warmer than in Cali. There are heaps of beaches in Sydney alone. Have a look at Google Earth and check them out from the air.

Music scene - great in the inner city, especially in Newtown.

Weather - Feb & March is unpredictable. It can be hot and steamy, like the tropics, or cold and wet. Its quite a strange time of year in Sydney. But over the 2 weeks, you'd be sure to get a lot of sun and heat. Feb and March are usually the 2 hottest months. (Some years its oppresively hot.)

If you don't know anything about Australia, you'd better start doing some reading! Your 2 weeks is gonna fly past, and you don't wanna miss out on anything. Start searching the Net right now!!

Have a great time.

g.reef
the beaches are great , girls are everywhere, on the beaches (bondi) they roam topless ,
there are pumping clubs with what you are looking for . "I mean pumping!!!"
the weather will be awesome at that time of year . a little hot if thats how you like it .
there are plenty of places to stay , if you go stay at some of the local hostils (backpackers) you will pick up a hot guide in a matter of minutes . .
