QLD (Queensland) is the best by far. Awsome hot weather, beaches everywhere and it's hot enough to go swimming all year round. You even have the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins Zoo), Islands off most of the central to north coast where all you do is relax in the sun, Gold Coast for some beachy nightlife, and there's a great city called Brisbane if you need to shop or pick up a job quickly. The people are great and relaxed. See QLD has everything anyone needs. What more could you want?

Victoria - Melbourne, of course :)
Depending on your personality. If you are "on the go" kind of person, Sydeny might be best.

If you enjoy lots of cultural/internaitional/sports events and festvials, definately Melbourne. =)

JHYUN
Sydney or Melbourne :)
OR if you enjoy hot weather and the beach .. then BRISBANE.

Melbourne. I think it has everything you need. It has lots of sports venues, museums and is a good city to live in. The overall state is very good also because i think its easy to live in!

Hello,

Canberra the Nations Capital of Australia is a great place to live and visit as well.

We have lots to offer all year round such as festivals, big events, markets, galleries, shopping, nightlife such as clubbing, National tourist attractions such as the Australian War Memorial, National Museum of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House, Old Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin and lots of other things you can see and do while your in our great city of ours.

We have big events such as Floriade - Australia's Floral Festival which is on in spring during mid September and October each year, National Folk Festival in Easter, Royal Canberra Show in late February, Australia Day Live concert, Canberra Day on the 10th of March each year, Summernats Car Festival in early January, National Multicultral Festival in mid February.

You can go for walks or ride a bike around Lake Burley Griffin or hire paddle boats or canoes and go for a cruise on the lake. There's lots of small community events in each area of Canberra, wineries, bike riding, bush walking, skateboarding, all kinds of sports such as cricket, AFL, basketball, motorsports, camping, hang gliding, triathalon, swimming, football, and lots of other things to do.

The population of Canberra at the moment is around 325,000 residents and we are a friendly city.

There is a tour bus in Canberra which does drop off and pick up at all the major tourist attractions including a drive past the Embassies.

This is a hop on and hop off tour bus with some commentary along the way.

The main guy who does this bus tour is John and he runs the Canberra Day Tours which is overwise known as the Explorer Bus. He's a great guy and he and his other two helpers will show you the sights of Canberra.

They do a hour hour tour which does a loop of all the attractions and you stay on the bus. Then a half day tour and also a full day tour.

If your interested in wine tours I'd suggest a good friend of mine who I have known for about 6 or 7 years and his name is Michael and he does tours in Canberra and the region of wineries and cellar doors. You can give him a call or send him an email from his website located at:

ACT Wine Tours:
http://www.actwine.com.au

Both tours are well worth the money I reckonmend both of them to visitors coming to Canberra and locals of Canberra as well.

Brisbane, Queensland. I moved to Australia last year, and i tried other cities and states. Sydney is a very fast paced place, people don't have time for each other and are a little rude, Queensland has a very relaxed way of life, and the people are friendly!!

Okay so trust me when I say ANYWHERE.. Its a beautiful contry and each state capital is good. Also some of the smaller cities like Newcastle, Tweed heads, Wollongong are all nice.

Each state is different, kinda. So choose one that suits you.

If you want beach, fun, lifstyle. Try Byron Bay, newcastle or any towns along the coast. There's coast in almost every state.

QLD and NSW are the two most expensive states to live in. But by far the most popular.

There's always plenty to do in Sydney but rents are very high and you want to be in a nice area of town. If money is no barier its the place to be.

Victoria is a bit of a undiscoved paradise. But its a little colder. If you are into sking and hiking its good.

But anyway, in Australia its hard to go wrong. So I hope you continue to reserch and enjoy picking out a place.
