I'm planning to work in Australia. Where is the best city to live in?

Additional Details
The living arrangements will be taken care of by my company. So, I'm interested in what each city has to offer in terms of food, culture, entertainment, etc.

Depends of the work you do. Cambera is in the desert and for diplomates people. Melbourne is very "Victorian" conservative and called in winter (July). Sydney is a cosmopolitan Port city with lots of life, good climate, and beautiful countryside. Brisbane is warmer in climate and has the charm of small cities in Europe, lots of people from Greece live there. Wollongong only for workers in the mines. Darwin for native Australians and tourism, very hot and humid climate. Perth and Adelaide are small and they are the gardens, fruits orchard of Australia. Good luck. Amitiés et bonne chance. Salut.

They're all great cities. It depends on how you define "best". What are you looking for in a city? What kind of work do you do? Do you want to live in an apartment or a big house? How much money do you think you'll earn. What do you like to do outside workhours?

These are all factors you need to take into account when chosing a city.

Sydney is beautiful, but if you don't want it too humid, go to Melbourne.

I am from Melbourne and agree with people who say that the weather is sooo changeable that it can annoy people heaps.

But don't listen to what anyone says about Sydney when they don't spell the name right! Obviously they don't live there.

Brisbane is a nice city , Adelaide is much quieter than Melbourne and Sydney.

seriously the best city is melbourne, and i am not biasis I come from brisbane.

my only gripe about melbourne is the weather can be very great or very bad, there is basically no inbetween.

it does however have the title of australias cultrual capital, not to mention the best shopping and dining in australia.

to check out the other cities try this website it may help

hope this helps
