A credit card? Or debit card? Debit cards take money right out of your bank account, and credit cards are buy now, pay later. Why not stay in AUS, the tennis AUS open is starting in about 6 days. |

i think there are special travellers cards/cheques that you can use, OR you can use western union to transfer cash if it's too much to carry. |

You can buy a card at Walgreen's or any number of places. They have a list on their site www.greendot.com. It is a debit card with Visa and Master Card. Check out the site. you may find more information there. |

I would suggest travelers' checks/cheques. You can probably buy them in dollars in Australia.

All major credit cards are usable. Amex, Visa, and Msrt Crd are all accepted in most places. The best thing to do is check with your bank. Visa or Amex travellers checks are readily accepted at major retail locations, tourist traps and banks. You will take a beating on the exchange rate. If you can get ones in US denominations. |

Travelex Card. Is a debit card, but is used like a credit card. You deposit your money onto it prior to leaving, can also deposit more through internet banking if you need more. Is protected by a pin number. You also get a spare card in case you loose one. |

Bring your MasterCard or Visa card, or even a bank debit card that belong to one of the major networks. Most stores, hotels, etc., take all of these.
You could also bring Traveler's Cheques. |

The best thing to use is a credit card, but if you don't have one, go to your bank and you can buy a debit card very easily. It will automatically make the currency conversions for you at a negligible charge. Bring cash and the money changers will charge you out the *** for it up to 5 & 6 %! |

Go to your bank and talk to them. I think the card you are talking about is what we call a debit card.
If you get the chance, come to the mountains of southwest Virginia and take a long drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stop in Floyd, VA on a Friday night and ask where the music is. There is a local store that musicians flock to every weekend and they have an awesome jam session! You will meet great people who will show you around and you might not want to leave... |
