I am a british citizen from birth but have lived in Australia for 20 years, i?

When i leave Australia i am stopped constantly, searched questioned wateva.. BUT when i arrive in Manchester i am allowed to sail through no questions asked and no stamp in my passport to prove i arrived here. Going back to OZ is completly different, they are more aware of who they let into there country, even tho i live there, i gladly put up with the delays. It just makes me feel safe....

Yes - I think the Aussie customs are getting very strict now days.

I am an Aussie, but when I go to NZ for holidays they basically search my baby and stroller - that peeves me off though, especially when he is asleep.

Sometimes they do go a bit to far with things.
For instance a couple months back going through customs I only had a baby bag, no hand bag, had my lighter in there - they told me it had to be in my handbag, explaining over and over that I didn't have one, i ended up putting it down my bra and walking off.
So why won't they let a lighter in any bag, they would rather have it on you - seems weird.

Well do you hold a British or Australian passport because my brother has both and when going to Britain he uses that and breezes through when he comes home he uses that and breezes through at this end so I think it depends on which passport you hold.

Ixtana
You should apply for Australian citizenship. Australia will allow you to have dual citizenship with the UK and it makes it an absolute breeze for immigration. I always leave and enter Australia on my Aussie passport, but enter Europe on my UK passport so I can just go through the EU passport holder queue. I can't imagine doing it any other way!
