The bridge is in Sydney, across the harbour from the opera house (which is also amazing). (check that out too if you get a chance) The bridge climb tour is incredible. There are two different guided tours. Yes you are harnessed in because you are climbing on top of the bridge. Not sure how much they charge to do it. I was there back in 1999. Of course prices could have changed since then.
Australia is a beautiful and amazing place. If you go to Cairns, go on the scuba diving tour at the Great Barrier Reef. Even if you have never scuba dived before, they give you a crash course. Well worth it!!! Hope this helps. Have fun! |

there are two options -
Sydney harbour bridge which is free to drive or walk across, but to do a bridge climb you have to pay. You are attached by harness to the bridge so you don't fall off. You are also given a guided tour.

OR -
- climb the Story Bridge in Brisbane. Again walking across is free, but you can climb it for a fee.

"I think the climb is around 30-40 dollars"
And the rest! There are two different Bridge Climbs which can be conducted at various times of the day. They last 3½ hours and cost between $169 and $295 depending on season, day of the week and time. |

It is free to walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck at road level. There is a footpath on the eastern side.
You have to pay to climb the arch, and when you do that you are permanently attached with a cable. It is a great experience, even for a local like me.
There is a third option. You can climb the south east tower thing for about AU$10 - a lot cheaper than climbing the arch and you are high (but not as high as the arch. You can also take your own camera on this one which you cannot do if you climb the arch. |

William Jolley Bridge, Brisbane Scroll down and look at the bridge on the right. Very old photo All these bridges are for pedestrians. Brisbane has the best looking bridges in Australia.

you are talking about the Sydney Harbour Bridge
you can walk across it for free but what you are referring to is the climb to the very top of the bridge and yes you will be strapped to the bridge for safety.I think the climb is around 30-40 dollars |

you can walkup to the top of the Storey Bridge in Brisbane and yes you are tied to the bridge by a cable so you don't get silly ideas like jumping off.
you can also climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
There is a fee and usually two climbs a day. Takes about 1/12 hrs. |
