Take the wife and kids to Yanchep National Park, there are Crystal Caves to explore, hire a boat and badle around on Lake Yanchep and take a picnic lunch with you.
There are heaps of things there to do that your kids will love.
It's less than an hours drive north of Perth.

I don't know about hotels but worth visiting are Fremantle, Kings Park and Perth zoo would be good for kids too.

If your kids are hooked on Pirates of the Caribbean try the shipwreck museum in Fremantle. If you are Lucky the Duyfkin will be in port and you can go for a wander over a replica dutch scout ship. You can really spend a few days wandering around Fremantle looking at some great historical sites, including the gaol and the round house (which was also a gaol). For dome reason Poms love London Court. Don't forget to Slip, Slop, Slap and visit a beach.

As for hotels, I can't really recommend one. Burswood isn't really family orientated, Rendezvous Observation city is too far away. Have you given some thought to serviced appartments?

Perth is an amazing place, but if I can make a recommendation. There is a yellow coastal shuttle bus that goes down to Margaret River, a beautiful town south of Perth. It's a couple hours south. Go there. There are a million things there for your kids to do. The reason I say go there is because the programs and tours they have set up for kids like the jeweled caves and the forest mazes, glass blowing and for accommodations you can actually stay on a farm. But in addition to that the most beautiful beaches you have ever seen are there, one leg of the international surf championships are held there every year. pristine, clear rivers, wineries like you have never imagined. And the people there will love your kids and help you to have time alone with your wife by taking the kids off your hands if you want. I lived there two times for 3 months once and another time for six months. Amazing place. You just have to go there. You won't want to go home. Here's the website.

You posted the same question 5 times in the Australian forum.

That's pretty annoying.
