You did not furnish enough information for someone to give a good answer.

A lot depends on where you want to purchase the property, the zoning laws, housing codes, whether you want a basement or not, a usable attic or not, a house that is compliant with American With Disabilities Act, one for older folks or younger folks (stair-wise). Garage, attached or detached.

There is just so much you did not cover where a perfect answer suited for you could be rendered.

With $2.7 mil you can probably afford someone to help you with a decision there... I wouldn't want amateurs' opinions on 6 houses

Here isn't the place to ask such a question or tell strangers how much you have...I think you should hire or ask a professional if you really need to know...

What you should do is make a culvasack or however it is spelled. Make sure the houses are different looking but roughly the same so people don't think of look they are all the same. Call that culvasack a certain name like Lohengrin park or something and maybe have a playground behind the 6 houses for kids to play on and dogs to roam and so forth. I'd have so much fun if I had money!!!

build one house and see if it works out first, then start building more if ur comfortable(its better to buy houses that are already made becuase built ones cost more)... the question is, are u leasing them , selling them, or using them?
