I have never visited australia, but is it a nice place to visit?

it is a nice place to visit, different features in each state, different land marks, the beaches are awesome, and food as we are multicultural society you will find almost everything here. The Australian people in general are well known for being friendly. I hope that may helped you.

I had a chance to go there waayyyyyyyyy back in my highschool days, around 40 years ago, when the girl I was dating and I got REAL serious about going there. Then, for some reason that I truly cannot remember now, we just stopped seeing each other, and I never got to go. I don't think she did either. That has been one of my most grievous mistakes in my life I think. Well, not THE most grievous, but, up there. I always think of her, and our plans to go to Australia back in 1969, or maybe it was '68, I can't remember exactly, but I can guarantee you I regret not going often. If you have a chance, please do go, and I hope you enjoy all the things I missed some 40 years ago when I just didn't have as much money as I wanted to have, and was scared to venture out. I wish I could hear your stories when you get back. Enjoy. God Bless you.

Yes! I live in both the USA and AU, and have for five years. We have houses, cars, bills in both countries. Australia is wonderful!

The people are so friendly. People (even in the big cities) just strike up a conversation with you. People aren't afraid of each other in AU like they are in the USA. If you ask for directions people will actually say "I'll walk you there"

There is an awesome public transport system so you wont even have to drive!

Wild parrots and cockatoos are flying around.

If you are from the USA it especially nice because they are the only ones in the world that like our accents! It's so nice to have someone say. "Just stay here and let me listen to your accent"

I have always wanted to travel to Australia. Everything about it seems great.

The scenery looks amazing, the people seem very friendly (not too mention the accent is so damn cool), and to me, it seems a whole lot better than the U.S (I do love America though).

Hopefully one day I will go.

like any country, it has it's good and bad.. it all depends on what you're interested in seeing/doing while you're here. unless you like stinking hot summers.. then I would advise you not to come here in late november through to early march.

generally though.. yes we have great weather, great beaches, MOST ppl are very friendly and welcoming. we have plenty to see and do ..such as australia zoo. if you're into theme parks then go for the 3 park super pass on the gold coast. if you're into general site seeing like trekking.. look for landmarks such as uluru, wave rock, try climbing the gloucester tree in south west aus (72 meters high). check with the local tourism commission for more suggestions and regitered tour groups.

if you go, make sure you drop by kiwiland as well - New Zealand (and not just the city - that doesn't define the country).

Yes, it's a great place to visit. The people aren't much different than Americans - you get your good - you get your bad.. It all depends on what part of the country you visit.

The food is basically the same as the US, just with a different spin on it. If you come over, be sure to try a "hamburger with the lot". I never thought I would like a burger with pineapple, egg and beets - but they're beautiful !!
The weather is basically like the US because it's a huge place... warm and temperate in some areas, and cold in others. Why I chose to live in Sothern Victoria when I could be wearing sundresses instead of trackie pants is beyond me..LOL ! (think comparing Maine in autumn to Florida )

Like Lora, I have houses, cars, bills and friends in both countries (I've been here 13 years) and I love both places !
I find the people to be much friendlier in Northern California,
( I come from a small town) but I guess I might have a different viewpoint if I were from a bigger city.

Australia IS worth a visit, so I hope you make it over. :o)
