I lost my licence and I'm going to Australia in 5 days!?

I'm leaving for Australia on my honeymoon in 5 days and I lost my NYS driver's licence. I have a passport and my ETA visa but I'm worried that I'll get over there and need my picture ID or licence for something else! Any Aussie's out there that can reassure me here? I plan on getting a temporary one before I leave-but it will just be a little piece of paper and I don't know that anyone would honor that! HELP!!!
Additional Details
Wow..could people who don't have anything constructive to say please not respond. Thanks.

You will only need your driver's licence if you want to hire a car here. For everything else, your passport will be more than enough ID. Even if you want to hire a car, a temporary licence and your passport together should be enough.

Don't worry - enjoy your honeymoon.

Shut up frumpy housewife!

Yea, somebody probably will honor that. I'm not sure. As long as you get it approved by a cop or somebody, it should be alright.

hahahhahhahhahahahhahhahhahahahahahah just kidddind ask for permision

You can go directly to the DMV( Division of motor vehicles) and get one right away.
However, your passport counts as a picture ID

you shouldn't need it, doesn't your passport have your picture in it?

long as you have a passport and a visa you will be fine, you wont be able to drive in Australia though without a full license

oceangirl78
Don't listen to Libby you are welcome to come here.Your passport will be sufficient form of ID but if you want to drive a car here you will not be able to do that.
Enjoy your honeymoon!

jennifer h
Your passport is your picture id. The only time you will need your licence is if you want to hire a car. The paper you will bring may work for this otherwise don't worry come and enjoy yourself

jesse_hight
you should have thought about that be4 u ran from the cops

Steve
All you need is your passport.

just go down to the local dmv and tell them you need a new one. It takes like 10 mins and probably about 25 bucks IF THAT.
