so many people in so many different places around the world come to australia espically sydney and the gold coast, so i bet when u ove to sydney u'll prolly find that most of the people there are probably either not australians themselves or they are half. australia doesn't tend to pick on people because of their accents. and goku are u from sydney, coz umm as far as i've experienced it is deffiently NOT the safest place in australia, damn they just had a huge riot there with it splace is full of gangs and wogs that wanna shoot people. sydney is turning more and more into la and stuff everyday

tommywho1
I'm not young from Sydney lived there for a while, don't worry you will enjoy it relax

im from australia, and i think people here are the same all over. if you try and make friends, you will! people will make fun of your accent, but remember, it is the australian sense of humour to make fun of each other - and we tease each othr more the more we like each other, so take it with a grain of salt- just laugh it off, or tease them back, it is the way we do it here! I think you should try and join some school or club team sports as soon as you can when you get here. that is the best way to make friends. the schools depend on ehre you live. where are you going to move to? Australia is a wonderful place to live. one og the coolest places in the world. see you soon. al. wigram17150@yahoo.com.au

I love the sound of English, Irish and French accents.. No I don't think you would be picked on, just don't take yourself too seriously here and you will fit in easily.. Sydney will be an exciting place for you to live.. WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA ..

boifriday
Most people in Australia think English accents are cute or interesting. You might get a good-natured ribbing if Australia beats England at any sport (rugby, cricket, etc) but that's the only thing I can think of.

School wise, it depends what you like in a school. You could contact the education department to ask for schools near the area you might move to, or for the names of schools that have special curriculum areas in your area of interest (eg art, sport, music...)
The website below will help you find out more about schools in Sydney (there are links for searching, etc).

I don't live in Sydney any more so my email address will be no good to you.

What you need to know about Australians is that we take the piss out of everything...but its all good natured...Over here as you may have heard we do not take things very seriously....what we (or at least i) value most is a sense of humour, as long as you have that, you will be fine. Trust me.
