You won't get a cheap price at that time of year with any airline. Prices go up for the Christmas period in early December, and many airlines will add another price hike halfway through the month.

You will also find that you're going to have an awful lot of trouble booking your return flight for that period. Most flights back to the UK from NZ, Australia and Asia get hideously overbooked and it can be a huge struggle finding any availability at all at the beginning of January.

If you are going to book, do it now or you won't have a hope. And waiting until the last minute will ensure that you will either not get a flight at all or that you will have to pay an extremely high fare.

Try Travelbag, Bridge the World, Trailfinders or the Flight Centre for the best fares. Asian or Middle Eastern Airlines will usually give you a better price and Travelbag seems to have the best fares at the moment.

Try FareChase, they search dozens of websites for you, so you dont have to!!! They always find the cheapest flights for me!!!
Or, type "flight to New Zealand" in Yahoo! and fill the form that comes up!!!

The best hope for the CHEAPEST flight to NZ over Christmas is to actually look for the flights that SKIP Christmas Day, i.e. you leave the U.S. on the 24th of December, but arrive in NZ on the 26th of December, because you cross the dateline. Most people want to be home for Christmas Day, so there's less interest in this one set of flights. It's often $1000 cheaper to do it and miss Christmas.

Try Air New Zealand.

I have no idea but be warned, it's extremely pricey at that time of year because of the summer and Christmas and all that malarkey.

Happy travelling!

I usually use Airline Network as they have normally come up with the best deals for me. Otherwise EBookers. The dates your travelling will be mega costly though.Have a lovely Xmas.

I have been trying to do exactly this. But - there simply are no cheap flights left.

Try going to a travel agent and get wait-listed for cheap seat. Its a longshot, but it may be possible...

Cheap at that time of the year???? You are in for a shock. Air NZ has flights from London via either LA or Hong Kong, and are as good as it gets. Try Korean Air, Thai Air, Malaysian Air, Lan Chile, Emirates, Qantas, Singapore Air, they all go to Auckland. Korean Air will probably be the cheapest,or Air NZ. Korean Air has crap inflight entertainment, Air NZ has state of the art stuff. Kia ora!
